Ordinary eggs are good

Eggs are a powerhouse food – a concentrated package of high quality natural proteins, vitamins, minerals and some essential elements you require in a balanced diet. Eggs are one of the few foods that contain vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin. In fact ordinary two eggs, 100g serve, will provide about 16% of your daily Vitamin D requirements (RDI). And eggs contain the highest quality complete food protein available.

But our egg is incredible

We have researched a special patented diet for our hens, a balanced diet boosted with natural supplements rich in good Omega fats and certain essential vitamins. Ecoeggs are an ideal food for sportspeople, pregnant women and anyone who generally cares about their health and what they eat. Ecoeggs contain increased levels of Omega 3, Vitamin E, B12 and Vitamin D compared to an ordinary egg, as well as being a good source of Folate, Selenium, and Iodine.

We think a healthy, happy hen lays a healthier, better tasting egg. And so do our customers.

DHA, the Smart Omega-3

DHA is the key essential Omega-3 fat. DHA is particularly important for pregnant and nursing mothers, infants, and the elderly. Fish is probably your main source of DHA, but it's expensive we often don't eat enough of it.

Our ecoegg offers you a natural and inexpensive alternative.

We source our DHA from Nu-Mega, an Australian company who specialise in the production of high grade tuna oil. A number of highly regarded Australian food companies source special oils from Nu-Mega. The patented process applicable to ecoeggs, developed by Dr. David Farrell, uses tuna oil in combination with flaxseed oil. This concentrated natural supplement, free of animal proteins, is added at very low levels into our hens’ diet.

Two ecoeggs provide 28% AI (Adequate Daily Intake) of Omega-3.

Currently there are no official RDI values for Omega 3, but the NHMRC instead recommends an Adequate Intake, which in Australia is 1570 mg/day for an average adult. Source NHMRC.

ecoeggs contain a 127% increase in EPA, DPA and DHA over ordinary eggs.
Vitamin E

Nutritional values in this table for a standard egg are based information published by AECL in 2008. In our comparison the figures stated above left are the ADDITIONAL nutritional content an ecoegg has ie. 150% increase is actually 1 + 1.5 = 2.5 times total. This calculated amount is then shown in the number of eggs you would need to eat to equal an ecoegg.
