While Mac users can "control click" they can also just "Right Click" as Windows users do.

Apple Mac's have had right clicking only since 2005.

Stuart the instructions were intended to cover everyone without getting complicated. Right clicking on a Mac requires a second mouse button which excludes older single button mac mice and mac laptops (unless users have implemented the software "right" button using the trackpad on more modern mac laptops, which is not the default). Mac users with a right click ability can still use control click but not vice-versa.
